FALCONS HEAD COACH RAHEEM MORRIS
POSTGAME PRESS CONFERENCE
November 2, 2025
RM: …Obviously, I don’t make those emotional decisions right now on how those things happen. We’ve got to go back and look at the tape, we’ve got to go back and find out what went wrong. We still had the opportunity to win that football game. We have to find a way to win that one, for our team, for our fans and everybody else that’s watching.
Q: Could you speak to the play of your defense? You got your big turnover right before the half, and then another one in the third or early fourth to help you kind of claw back in a little bit.
RM: Obviously, you can find really good points of the team all over the place today and how they played, particularly in the defense, being able to get after the quarterback, get six sacks. Obviously, having the two turnovers to give us the opportunity to win there. Some red zone offense, being able to score touchdowns today and keep us in that football game. But you’ve got to find ways to get off the field on third down, you’ve got to find ways to give you more opportunities to win, and we’ll go find those ways. Quick turnaround and be ready to go.
Q: They were 75%, you were 11% on third down. How do you try to get up from third and keep going?
RM: You just named it. Got to find a way to move the chains on third down, maintain possessions, and we’ve got to find a way to get off the grass. That’s part of the keys to victory today. We weren’t able to do that. We did get two turnovers to combat that, to allow us to have an opportunity to try to win that game, and we just came up short.
Q: You had 14 runs, threw it 37 times. You talked a lot coming into this week about how the running game is your lifeline. What changed that plan?
RM: Obviously, you’ve got to find a way to win every single game. This team is extraordinarily good on the run game. We had to find a way to win this game. We knew it would come with some quick passing gains, we knew it would come with some targets to Bijan [Robinson], whether it was getting the ball quick or letting him run the football out of the back field. Obviously, we knew it would be tough sailing trying to run the football versus this team, and it was. We found a way to get into the end zone. That’s our job, that’s our requirement each and every week.
Q: Do you have an update on Chris [Lindstrom]?
RM: I don’t yet. I don’t as of right now.
Q: You spoke about getting smashed last week and how it was not the result you wanted, but how would you assess the mentality of the leaders?
RM: Team came out and fought. That’s what you coach for, that’s what you look for. You love the way they were able to go out there and fight. You love the way they were able to go out there and give us an opportunity to win the football game. We’ve just got to find a way to win it.
Q: Do you know what happened with Chris Lindstrom?
RM: Yeah, I mean, obviously it was a low body injury. We’ll figure all that stuff out with the foot. I know he came out of it. We’ll figure it out.
Q: Any concerns about this team’s confidence with three straight losses?
RM: No. Confidence is never an issue with the team. The team came out and fought. They’ll come out and fight next week. We’ll find ways to get a win. That’s never an issue for us.
Q: What has changed from that Buffalo game when you were flying so high and seemed to be playing so well?
RM: Nothing. That’s the National Football League. These guys – you’ve got to come out and play every single week, got to find a way to get a win. We almost found a way to get a win today. We just felt short.
Q: You talked about effort the last two weeks. Drake London had almost superhuman effort on that drive that should have tied the game. Can you just speak to that and Drake’s play?
RM: We talked about uncommon effort last night. What he did today was come out and play with uncommon effort. It wasn’t just Drake, there were some men across the board that played that way trying to give us a win versus a very good football team.
Q: How do you think Mike [Michael Penix Jr.] played today?
RM: Obviously, you go back and evaluate a bunch of things. You’ll look at it all. Mike gave us an opportunity to win today, gave us an opportunity. He stepped up and played well. He was able to move around in the pocket, he was able to keep himself out of harm’s way. He did a bunch of things that we love about Mike. He’ll continue to get better and grow as a player.
Q: The last time you had – Michael wasn’t ready for a snap. Was that a miscommunication?
RM: They did a nice job. They simulated a snap. The ball came early – was snapped early – within that snap, that was when we got the intentional grounding. Nice job by those guys. Great situational football. Great play.
Q: Like they clapped?
RM: They were clapping, simulated our snap, got us to snap the ball. That’s why the ball was snapped early on Mike when he wasn’t ready for the snap.
