Post Game Press Conference – Bills Players

BILLS PLAYERS

James Cook, RB

(On reaching 1,000 yards and his touchdown)

“It was big, just to break his record, I mean not even break it but to tie it, and just get your name in the record book is great. First of all, I have to give thanks to my offensive line, without them nothing would be possible.”

(On what it meant that the team wanted him to get it)

“It was big, when you have a group of guys that are behind you and support you and want you to get it. I’m appreciative of them.”

(On how he feels to accomplish these two milestones)

“It was great, it’s been something I’ve been working for, and working hard throughout the year. To do that and make 1,000 yards for my second year, it was a blessing.”

Ray Davis, RB

(On James Cook getting 1,000 yards)

“It means a lot, Jimbo [James Cook] is the head of our room, so to see a guy go out there and represent us well and showcase the work that Coach Skip [Kelly Skipper] puts in on us day in and day out throughout the week preparing us for games and situations. Again, it’s just a testament to our room and a testament to our coach and to have Jimbo out there representing us, is pretty good.”

(On helping the other players hit incentives)

“It shows that we are a family. We are a family here with the Bills and they want to be able to take care of the guys and put them in a position to succeed. Von [Miller] out there doing it and Josh [Allen] keeping his streak. It means a lot more than just football and it is about guys having legacies. It’s about guys earning what they have earned and to be able to go out there and just achieve that.”

(On his touchdown)

“I saw the green grass and the ball in the air and you have to catch it, and shout out to Mitch [Trubisky] for believing in me and giving me a good soft toss.”

Dalton Kincaid, TE

(On Josh Allen as an MVP candidate)

“Regardless of whether he wins or not, he’s obviously the MVP of our team. I think the person he is, he could obviously care less winning it. I think the only thing that matters to him is winning the whole thing. That speaks volumes about him as a person, and how he approaches each day. He comes here to win games for the team. It would be awesome if he were to win it, he’s obviously more that deserving of it. But when it comes down to it, he cares more about the Superbowl.”

(On Josh Allen’s stats for the year)

“Playing with him it’s weird, cause you’re out there and you’re playing football and he does something and you’re like, ‘wow.’ So multiple times this season where he’s taken my breath away when he’s done something. It seems like for a stretch of period there it was every week he was breaking some record, setting some record. Again all that is cool for him and cool accolades to achieve but, winning the whole thing is the goal.”

Sam Martin, P

(On his punt downed at the 1-yard line)

“Obviously it’s a cool small part of it, and it’s not the big picture here. It’s a credit to all those guys, they deserve the credit. It was a heck of a play. Those guys have been doing it all year for me, It’s great when you can trust your gunners to go down there and make plays. You can get more aggressive with punts, and those guys have been doing it all year.”

(On being on a team where they allow guys to chase personal goals)

“It just shows the tight knit group we have. Everyone is rooting for each other, everyone wants everyone to win. Like you said, it’s not the big picture. If none of us got those today, nobody would have cared. We have more important things to take care of, but everyone being excited for each other and root for each other it just shows the type of locker room we have.”

Joe Andreessen, LB

(On starting in his first NFL game)

“A lot of guys out there did not get a lot of reps during the whole season, so you know the first game experience and starting and everything like that was a cool experience. Those game reps are important.”

(On his preparation)

“Definitely there is a big responsibility and definitely more build up during the week. More on my mind and everything like that. It was definitely cool going out there and starting, and playing the whole game.”

(On takeaways from his first start)

“I need to watch the film and see what you can learn and it’s definitely different than practice reps. Those reps are good and with your first start, there is a lot to learn from and watch the film and hopefully get better from here.”

O’Cyrus Torrence, G

(On the key to their good offensive line play)

“I think it’s just communicating and it’s knowing who you have to block. We just have to block the guy in front of us and the chances of us winning is over fifty percent. We just have to go out there and communicate and do our job. Know what we have to do and control what we can control. Communications is a big part of it.”

(On the team helping players hit incentives)

“It means a lot and shows that they care, honestly I can’t be more straightforward than that. It’s showing it’s about football and it’s about winning at the end the of the day, but we are also here to get paid and do a job, so if we can do something a little extra to get paid even more and the coaching staff notices, and they help us get it. It just shows that they care about us more than just being a job. It helps us on side and makes the year good.”

(On the team going into the playoffs)

“We are now playing for keeps. We have been in the situation before, and I’m pretty sure the first game will be home. We are just going to go out there and play our best ball and give it our best shot. We feel like coming in and going into the playoffs, that we play our best ball and hit our stride. We plan it well and we have a good run behind us and good passing. We just have to go out there and do what we have to do.”
